I’m Jules Lavallee, Founder of ThinkEco². ThinkEco² handcrafts recycled cedar wine racks, wine gift boxes, garden planters and wedding décor. I have a passion for combining eco-conscious with philanthropy. I believe it is important to give back. I donate our wine racks to raise money for charities including Big Brothers & Big Sisters, TNT Memorial, and Mama’s Kitchen. I plan on building my business to hire Veterans in San Diego.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by people who want to make a difference in the world.

Do you have a favorite quote? “To be or not to be, that is the question.”

What are the most pressing issues facing women today? I believe women face bullying in the workplace.

What are the biggest keys to your success? Patience, persistence, and faith.

What are the biggest keys to the advancement or success of women? An open-mind, a vision, a “Can Do” attitude.

Where did the inspiration for your business come from? My business Partner, Brian Behncke owns and operates Briven Construction. He wanted to make good use of old, weathered, rustic cedar fence that would otherwise go to the landfill. We decided to join forces and build a recycling company.

What advice do you have for a woman who is considering starting a business? Be patient, nothing happens overnight.

What are the biggest hurdles you’ve faced in starting or growing your business? How did you overcome these? The biggest challenge is being able to keep up with the demand. We have been growing steadily over the past year.

Are there any additional thoughts or questions that you have? I really enjoy offering creative and unique products that are one-of-a-kind and comes from the heart. We take pride in offering a great selection of products and want to build jobs locally.
