Wholistic Beauty Boutique is the creation of Colleen Fletcher. Born from the desire to be a parent first, and a businesswoman second, Colleen set out on a course of study that has led her to become an expert in the field of personal wholistic well-being.
Colleen was fortunate that her childhood included an introduction to meditation at an early age. This concept was integral in the business she would eventually start. Having an open mind and heart made what most consider being an “alternative” method of self-care; simply a normal extension of day-to-day beliefs for Colleen….Colleen was ready to begin her journey into motherhood and into business.
The business began in 1994 shortly after Colleen’s son Isiah was born. Colleen often says that, “I always wanted to have a happy well adjusted human; not just a son.” Her desire to make that want a reality resulted in a pursuit of massage therapy. Feeling that an education in massage would be effective in both: deriving an income that was flexible and worked around her baby’s needs, and supported her mothering in a wholistic way, Colleen began her career as a massage therapist.
Colleen obtained her massage license and practiced independently in the State of Oregon from 1995-2006. During this evolutionary process she became trained in Reiki and postural rebalancing. Incorporating these modalities into her practice Colleen saw how integral the physical and the energetic aspects were to overall health in a person. These ideals are universal in her outlook for your health.
As her practice thrived she began to notice that the products she was using for massage where bothering her skin. She began to get rashes from the oils and lotions she had been using and discovered that the toxins in the products where severely affecting her. “If a product was causing me skin problems, I wasn’t about to use it on others.” And, with that in mind she began to seek out beauty and body products that were all natural and healthful for her self, her business and you.
As Colleen’s massage and energy work experience grew she began to sense the deeper connection between the body and mind. With the desire to ensure her clients were cared for physically and mentally Colleen began training as a hypnotist. “Hypnotherapy really opened the doors for me into the depths of the mind and the deeper benefits my work was providing.
2006 Brought changes to Colleen and her family. The family moved to Boise to secure a great job opportunity for her husband. After the move Colleen sensed it was time to change gears for a bit. “We felt it was important to have one parent at home, so that was me.” She spent the next three years caring for her young son and adjusting to life in Boise. But it soon became clear to her that helping others wasn’t going to be put off for long. “I had clients from Oregon still wanting bodywork, and I still wanted to do it! So I decided to start my bodywork practice again here in Boise.”
Massage & Body Boutique opened in Boise in 2009 nestled within the Arcade building. During this time Colleen felt the need to expand upon her knowledge base yet again. She undertook the journey of becoming a metaphysician and ordained minister, this expanded upon the hypnotherapy already firmly established in her practice.
As the business flourished Colleen saw the need to incorporate wholeness more fully and renamed the business to Wholistic Beauty Boutique in 2012. Wholistic Beauty Boutique now offers a range of services and products covering nearly every aspect of self-care. Colleen is passionate about addressing the “whole you”, not just parts and pieces.
The need to see her son become a “happy well adjusted human” blossomed into a desire to help others be happy, whole, and well adjusted too.
