“I think women need to give themselves permission to follow their true passion – whether it’s raising kids and having a family, having a career or launching a business.”

My name is Andreea Ayers and I blog at www.launchgrowjoy.com about how to market a product line, whether it’s apparel, jewelry, food, eco-products, baby products, home décor or more. I started Launch Grow Joy after selling a t-shirt business that I started in 2007.

What inspires you?  Seeing people launch businesses and going for their dreams is what inspires me every day!

Do you have a favorite quote?  “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right” – Henry Ford

What are the most pressing issues facing women today?  One of the most pressing issues is finding balance between work and family. As a mom of three, I find that if I am working I am thinking about my kids and when I am with my kids I think about all the things that I need to do in my business. Being present, whether it’s at work or at home, has been a challenge because I want to do it ALL!

What are the biggest keys to your success?  Having a husband that is very supportive of my business has been key. And also realizing that I can’t do it all and finally deciding to invest in other people to help me has made such a big difference.

What are the biggest keys to the advancement or success of women?  I think women need to give themselves permission to follow their true passion – whether it’s raising kids and having a family, having a career or launching a business. Don’t wait for others to give you permission to go for your dreams. Give yourself permission first and everything else will fall into place!

Where did the inspiration for your business come from?  After I sold my t-shirt business I realized that I learned A LOT along the way and other entrepreneurs were emailing me asking me how I did it. So I decided to launch LaunchGrowJoy.com as a way to share what I learned in the hopes that it would help other entrepreneurs.

What advice do you have for a woman who is considering starting a business?  Start where you are at right now and don’t wait to “feel ready” or to have everything in place before you start. Once you take a small step towards your dream, you’ll see that things will start to unfold.

What are the biggest hurdles you’ve faced in starting or growing your business? How did you overcome these? One of the biggest hurdles that I found is that it took me a few years to ask for help and to allow others to help.me. I thought I could do it all myself and I burnt out really quickly. Investing in hiring other people to help has been huge in allowing me to have the business that I want and also to spend time with my family.
